A small agricultural community with modern conveniences for its three constituent neighborhoods, Valley Center encompasses 94 square miles of unincorporated land in North County about nine miles northeast of Escondido. The diverse and family-friendly community has a population of around 10,000. The area is a short drive to larger neighboring towns and attractions such as Bates Nuts Farm, Keys Creek Lavender Farm, Palomar Mountain and Observatory, a few lakes, and Hellhole Canyon Preserve with its miles of hiking and horseback riding trails. Valley Center also has parks and trails closer to home – plenty of open space for families to grow and play.
