Comments: Welcome 2011! We are now nearing three years past the real estate crash. Home prices have stabilized. San Diego and Orange County are predicted to have two of the strongest markets in the country in 2011. A strong year for stocks, and general economic growth around 3%, will hopefully lead to banks more willingly lending to qualified individuals. Adjustable rate mortgages will make a return, with a strong focus on asset vs. income based lending practices. As always, cash will be king, and those with the largest down payments will have their pick of a broad market of distressed properties. VA buyers will also be in a special position, especially relating to downtown. Expect to see VA approved buildings prosper. More than ever, it is important to think locally….work with a professional that knows the ins and outs of the ultra complex San Diego metro real estate market.
